Q. What payment methods do you accept? A. We accept cash/cheques, bank transfers and the following cards: Maestro, Mastercard, Solo, Switch, Visa, Visa Electron Q. Your shopping cart doesn't appear to be secure. Are my card details safe? A. The cart will become secure at the stage when your card details are requested. thephonefinder.co.uk uses ‘secure’ 128-bit (high security) connections when accepting your card details online. This means no-one can see your credit/debit card details. Our web server uses Protx to process your payment, a leading independent third party organisation. At no point are your credit card details sent over an unsecured connection. You can tell when a connection is secure as a padlock will appear in the bottom right area of your window. The start of the URL will also display https (the 's' standing for secure) as opposed to http which is displayed on standard pages where no confidential information is being entered. Q. Who are Protx? A. Protx are an accredited payment service provider. They handle your credit card transaction in a highly secure environment. Q. I can't enter my full address as there aren't enough boxes. What shall I do? A. If your address contains more lines than the form allows it is fine to put more than one line of your address in one box, separating each line with a comma. Q. Why has my card been refused? A. If you receive the message "Authorisation on that payment type has been declined by the bank" your card has been declined by your card issuer. This message is generated by your bank/card issuer, and you will need to contact your card issuer to find out why your card has been refused. You should check you have entered the following correctly: Card holder name/address Expiry Date Valid From Date Issue Number etc. You should also make sure you have sufficient funds in your account. Q. I am getting an invalid card number or invalid card type message? A. You should check that you are entering the card number without any spaces. Switch and Solo cards may have a card number printed on them which is only an 8 digit number. We require the long number across the center of the card.
